Last week we completed our fourth edition of the Primland Racing Experience Powered by Audi. With guidance from nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen, and myself our guests were able to show what they could do out on the race track at the very special Virginia International Raceway, whilst also enjoying the 12,000 acres of land nestled in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains.
This year we had various activities on offer for everyone to enjoy including a golf tournament, live music, clay pigeon shooting and many others. But obviously, the main party piece was the racing experience. Our guests could enjoy driving the various models provided by Audi including the Audi RS3 and the brand new R8 V10 Plus, which was incredibly entertaining! Tom and I also took people out on a few hot laps in the Radical sportscars, before we took part in a very competitive go-kart race!
The golf tournament on the second day was also a big hit and everyone got really involved. It was great to have 9-time PGA Tour winner and Primland’s professional golf ambassador Jay Haas with us as well; he was very helpful with assisting and advising everyone who took part. We had some great prizes for the teams and individuals that did the best jobs during the various activities over the weekend.
Everything went fantastically well and even when the low-laying fog in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains meant we weren’t able to use the helicopters, it didn’t affect the mood and we had a great time on the “fun bus” instead!
Amongst our guests were Michael Hurnaus and Wolfgang Reisinger from Tractive, the pet GPS Tracking Company, who said: “We would like to extend our thanks to Tom, Jay, Harold and Primland for the amazing experience we had last week. We drove freakin’ race cars! This is certainly not something we’d be able to do without knowing them. All of the staff was very welcoming and we’re both sure to be coming back next year.”
Alongside our usual festivities, we also celebrated Tom’s 50th birthday with a fantastic dinner party, including – of course – cake, which went down a treat!
Tom Kristensen, nine-time Le Mans winner and Primland Ambassador, said: “It was another great event at Primland and the Virginia International Raceway. The atmosphere is amazing and it’s a real pleasure to participate. The quality of the VIR track and the golf course is outstanding and I would like to thank all of the staff and supervisors for being so excellent. I am ready to join again next year!”
I would like to extend my thanks to all of the VIR and Primland team, who helped our event to run as smoothly as possible. It was a huge effort by all! Thanks must also go to Audi for providing a wide variety of their most exciting models and lastly but not least, I would like to thank my good friend and Primland ambassador Tom Kristensen, alongside 18-time PGA Tour Champions winner Jay Haas for being such gentlemen and so friendly to everyone involved.
I hope to see even more of you for our fifth edition in September 2018, which we hope will be yet another step up from this year!
